Funding available for citizens
Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP)
Marysville has again been awarded a state grant that provides for
housing assistance for residents who qualify based on their income.
These funds may be used to repair or replace your roof, update plumbing
or electrical systems, or replace your heating system. Homeowners may
receive a grant for up to $5,000 to make those needed but expensive
repairs. If your home is in need of major rehabilitation, you may
qualify for a forgivable loan for up to $35,000 to repair or replace all
major systems in the home including roof, plumbing, electrical and
structural and will address lead-based paint if present. The loan is
made at zero percent interest and requires no monthly payments. If you
are a first time buyer looking to buy an existing home, down payment and
rehabilitation assistance are also available to purchase existing homes
within the city limits. To qualify, homes must be valued at less than
$144,000.00 for all programs.
ColumbusHousing Partnership (CHP)
This organization is available to all counties surrounding Franklin
County including Union County and Marysville to provide Housing
Counseling to those in need. A call to them for free assistance might
be the difference between keeping your home and foreclosure. CHP can be
of assistance if you are experiencing job loss, medical expenses, death
or family emergency, divorce, too much debt or a high mortgage payment.
They are also available to prospective homeowners to provide the
financial information needed to help prepare them to purchase a home.
