Are you interested
in time-tested, powerful tools for raising happy, responsible
kids? Wouldn’t
it be wonderful if these same tools and techniques could
lower your stress
level during these challenging years? Would you like to
learn solutions for those frustrating things that parents
deal with each and every day - common problems that exist
among adults and young children.
Painless Parenting for Early Childhood, a three-part
parenting workshop, is being offered by OSU Extension
on Wednesday
evenings - January 9, 16 and 2, 6:30 - 9 p.m. at the
OSU Extension office at the Union County Agricultural
Services
Center, 18000 State Route 4, Suite E, in Marysville.
Using resources developed by Love & Logic parenting
experts, Jim and Charles Fay, Ph.D., parents will learn
how to turn mistakes children make into golden nuggets
of wisdom. Topics that will be addressed span the gamut
of behavioral areas including hygiene, manners, eating,
cleanliness and tantrums.
The experts address bedtime battles, power struggles
about eating, potty training, grocery store temper tantrums,
getting kids to brush their teeth, whining, kids who
won’t
get ready on time in the mornings, sibling rivalry, getting
kids to pick up their toys, temper tantrums and fits in
restaurants, what to do when kids say “no” all
the time, begging for toys or candy in the check-out line,
misbehaving at day care, preschool, or kindergarten, and
other problems that parents face daily.
Total cost for the program is $30/ person or $40/couple.
Registration fee must be received in advance of the first
class to reserve class materials. Child care is not available.
For more information or for dates and times of additional
class series, contact the Extension office at 937-644-8117
